BASKETBALL DEVELOPMENT

As leaders in the eyes of these young men, we do not take the opportunity lightly to provide a safe environment for our student-athletes to grow academically, emotionally, and physically during their time at AZ Compass. Our entire campus is supporting your child’s dreams of playing basketball professionally. We have designed our program to build pros on and off the floor. NIL & MEDIA OPPORTUNITIES

Fresh Focus Sports Documentary –
Throughout the highs & lows of our 2021 – 2022 season, Fresh Focus Sports captured tense moments of success on the floor, hardships in the locker room, and ultimately the ‘coming together’ of our team this season. Catch our 10 episode documentary on Youtube, as this will best represent what being a part of brotherhood is truly like.

Pro/Media Day –
Our first annual Pro/Media was a major success, with over 100 in attendance from Division I coaches, to media outlets both local/nationwide, and NBA personnel.

NIL Opportunity –
We are open and equipped with the right leadership to assist with NIL opportunities for our athletes to make an income based off their likeness. We want our athletes to take part in financial opportunities during their time with AZ Compass Prep. We also have current athletes already partaking in this process.

STRENGHTH, CONDITIONING & PHYSICAL THERAPY

Physical Therapy | Strength & Conditioning:
Student-Athletes that attend AZ Compass Prep receive strength and conditioning practices as part of their daily routine during their time with the program. AZ Compass focuses on benchmarking students and follow their performance to ensure they increase strength, conditioning, flexibility, injury prevention, and recovery in order to perform at the demanding level of play in which we compete. AZ Compass provides in-house recovery and partners with physical therapy companies in the Phoenix, AZ area for more demanding needs.

Bringing Dakota Keays-Clark to the Dragon Family comes with high-energy, commitment to player success, and an educated background on injury prevention. Dakota joins the staff as a former/current trainer in the community. Dakota will train our athletes in-house within our weight room and other athletic facilities.

Nutrition:
Team meals are catered multiple times a week for our athletes to have for lunch before fully-scheduled afternoons of weight training, practice, and additional workouts. Additionally, AZ Compass provides recovery proteins, shakes, and bars to athletes following demanding practices/workouts.

SPORTS MEDICINE AND MEDICAL CARE

Skill Development:
Individual and team skill workouts are an important aspect of our daily routine at AZ Compass under the direction of Coach “Mo”. Coach “Mo” trains a list of professional athletes during the off-season in our gym and around the country. Additionally, we have him on campus as part of our education staff, making him a familiar face for our athletes in their academic and athletic career.

Athletic Training:
Emily Gracyk is a major part of our success on the
floor, as she assists athletes with recovery, preparing for games, and ensuring each athlete is ready to compete at their best on a daily basis. Emily is a full-time member of our basketball staff, as well as an education leader in the classroom. Her team includes bright, energized students from our campus in efforts to lead youth toward understanding different career opportunities in athletics. Emily travels with our team, as she is a crucial component of supporting nutritional awareness for meals on the road, as well as athletic training needs.

Student-Athlete Care:
Dr. Jason Lake, M.D. who is a orthopedic surgeon. He is well-known for his practice at Ortho Arizona. He works closely with Emily to support injury knowledge and recognizing needs for further care.

AZ COMPASS BASKETBALL LEADERSHIP
