Seekerz Student Leaders

Our Athletic Academic Dean Angela Weathers provides wonderful opportunities for our students to learn and grow in a program called Train Up a Champion, a servant leadership program especially for 11th/12th grade. This program is designed to provide opportunities for both non and student athletes to gain exceptional community involvement and leadership skills. The class is designed to mimic college level standards and utilizes visuals, creative arts into a google classroom while building their resume writing, interview skills and public speaking.

Community service is strongly incorporated to have students appreciate and embrace different cultures through the global curriculum to overall promote accountability, humbleness, and learn to be leaders in their own communities.

One component of this program includes the creation of a student to student mentoring program called Seekerz. To be part of this group, students must be upperclassmen at AZ Compass Prep, maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher, exhibit positive leadership skills, and be willing to complete a minimum of 40 hours of community service. We are excited to see the wonderful accomplishments of this group of mentors.

Past student Seekerz include:

Both Gach – University of Utah
Dwayne Walker – Chipola College
Barrett Keith – Concordia University
Meekness Payne – Central Arizona College
Keron Bailey – Ventura College
Diego Diaz Colwell – Pima Community College
